Many times ACS and Federal Workers’ Compensation Claims Examiners will tell claimants that the “case is closed”. Note: A claim may never be “closed”. A federal Workers’ Compensation claim cannot be settled. A Federal Workers’ Compensation claim may be inactive. The Commissioner may, on his own motion, open any claim.
