In a recent case, A.M. and Department of the Air Force, 115 LRP 18116, a claim of traumatic injury was denied because the date stated on the filing did not match information on the injured worker’s medical records. In this particular case a third party filed the claim but medical records indicated that the injury began two year prior to the date listed. The claim was made after two years because the condition deteriorated, but was ultimately denied due to the date discrepancies.

This case drives home the fact that accurate filing is vital to the success of a claim. If you need assistance with a federal workers’ compensation claim, call Alan J. Shapiro.
